Deputies seeking information in 2018 James Island cold case
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help solving a cold case involving the death of a 29-year-old man on James Island six years ago.
The body of Kurt Wendell Melton was discovered around 11 p.m. on June 10, 2018, in a car along Greenhill Road as deputies responded to reports of a shooting.
Melton died as a result of injuries sustained from a gunshot wound, according to deputies.
Authorities reportedly interviewed several of Melton’s acquaintances but were unable to identify a suspect.
