Charleston police investigating Tuesday night shooting that left 2 dead

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Johnson Street in downtown Charleston Tuesday night. 

Charleston officers responded to Johnson Street between America Street and Hanover Street shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving a call about shots fired.

When they arrived, police found two victims dead from gunshot wounds. 

The scene remains active as detectives and officers complete their initial investigation, said Anthony Gibson, spokesperson for the Charleston Police Department.
