Crews respond to commercial fire in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Summerville Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a commercial building on Old Trolley Rd which caused smoke and water damage to neighboring businesses.

Crews responded to the 1200 block on Old Trolley Road and found no obvious signs of fire from the exterior but upon entry, they were met with smoke and heat inside, says Chief Fire Marshal, Jeremiah D. Lee.

Officials say firefighters quickly found the fire and had it under control in less than five minutes. Neighboring businesses suffered from smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
