Authorities investigating after deceased woman found near car on Brighton Park Blvd.

UPDATE 8:30 AM: Deputies say area roadways have been reopened.

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are responding to what they call an active crime scene that has closed a portion of Brighton Park Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office confirms that at 5:12 a.m. they responded to a deceased female outside of a car in the area. Officials say she may have been a victim of a gunshot wound, but the coroner is examining to determine the cause of death.

Officials are looking for witnesses and expect the area to be closed until further notice.
