Two Alabama men accused of robbing man at gunpoint in North Charleston Walmart parking lot

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Two people are facing charges after authorities say they robbed a man at gunpoint in a Walmart parking lot in North Charleston.

North Charleston police responded to the Walmart on Rivers Avenue shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a robbery, according to an incident report.

The victim reportedly told police that a vehicle pulled into the parking spot next to him, and a passenger pointed a gun at him. The victim’s wallet, keys, and phone were initially taken, but after a small sum of cash was stolen from the wallet, the keys and phone were returned.

The report states that video surveillance showed one of the suspects was standing in line at the money center in front of the victim before the incident and may have followed him out of the store.

Police said the suspects — later identified as Jordan Edward Hooks, 20, and Jared Wilson, 25 — fled the area after the robbery, but were arrested hours later at a hotel on Ashley Phosphate Road.

Both men were charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon. Hooks faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
