Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office launching Cadet Post for youth interested in law enforcement

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office is launching its Police Cadet Post.

It’s a program designed to provide area youth with an opportunity to explore a potential future in law enforcement.

Participants must be willing to attend weekly training sessions and take part in special events.

Applicants for the program must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and have no significant criminal history or excessive traffic violations.

They also must be willing to complete a physical fitness test and be enrolled in school with no disciplinary issues. They say you must have an average ‘C’ grade.
