Construction worker seriously injured in Summers Corner trench collapse, officials say
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A construction worker was injured Tuesday when a trench collapsed in the Summers Corner community.
Rescue workers responded to Clay Field Trail shortly after 3:20 p.m. after learning about the incident.
Dorchester County officials told News 2 that the worker was in a 10-foot hole when there was a collapse.
Once at the scene, crews learned the man’s legs were trapped inside the hole.
The man is being taken to a local hospital with traumatic injuries to at least one of his legs.
