Teen charged in connection to Bowen Pier Drive shooting

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened Monday, leaving one person dead.

Deonte Calden Trevon Lancit of Charleston was charged with armed robbery regarding the shooting on Bowen Pier Drive, according to the Hanahan Police Department.

Officers responded to the location just after 9 p.m. and found one person who had died.

Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified that individual as 18-year-old Tra’sean White from Wadmalaw Island. Law enforcement has not released further details on how the situation unfolded.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police said they believe the incident was isolated and poses no further risk to the community.
