JEDBURG, S.C. (WCBD) – Firefighters are responding Thursday to a brush fire in the Jedburg area.
Berkeley County and Dorchester County Fire Rescue are responding to the fire on Dawson Branch Road.
Officials say the road is closed on the Berkeley County side and Dorchester County side while crews work to control the fire.
People are asked to avoid the area.
The wildfire comes as forecasters warned this week of an elevated fire danger because of relatively low humidity, dry conditions, and gusty winds. A statewide outdoor burning ban has been in place for nearly a week.
