West Ashley High School dugout catches fire after baseball game
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A fire erupted Tuesday night on West Ashley High School’s campus, according to the school.
The Wildcat’s baseball dugout caught fire following tonight’s home game. School officials said first responders arrived on the scene quickly to douse the flames. There is no ongoing safety risk.
“The safety of our students, faculty, and campus are our top priority,” West Ashley High School said via a Facebook post. “We are working with officials to investigate and to ensure everything is secure. We will share any necessary updates.”
Officials say school operations are expected to proceed as normal on Wednesday. News 2 has reached out to the fire department for further information.
