15 concerts to see in Charleston this spring

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The spring season is a prime time for festivals, special events, and tourism. It’s not yet unbearably hot, and hurricane season is not fully underway (but there may be many mosquitoes around, so plan ahead and bring the bug spray).

The first weekend in April is often the busiest with the Lowcountry Strawberry Festival, Cooper River Bridge Run, Flowertown Festival, and Credit One Charleston Open kicking off the season.

Feelin’ hungry? The Lowcountry Cajun Festival returns to James Island County Park in mid-April, followed by the Black Food Truck Festival at the Exchange Park Fairgrounds later that month along with the Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival in Mount Pleasant.

If it’s music you’re after, venues from North Charleston to downtown to Daniel Island boast an impressive list of artists heading to town.

Over in North Charleston, the High Water Music Festival will bring more than a dozen artists to Riverfront Park over two days of live music. This year’s lineup includes Arcade Fire, Counting Crows, and Amos Lee to name a few.

Here’s a look at 13 artists coming to the Lowcountry this spring you won’t want to miss:
