1 dead, 3 injured after vehicle overturns in Georgetown County
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – State troopers are investigating a fatal collision that left one person dead and three others injured in Georgetown County Thursday afternoon.
A 2015 Honda Accord was traveling north on Exodus Drive around 4:48 p.m. when it veered off the right side of the roadway near Sheba Drive, which is 14 miles north of Georgetown.
The accord then struck a ditch and overturned, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The car had four occupants. One passenger was injured and died at the scene, according to Cpl. Butler. Two passengers were injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital. The driver was also injured and taken to a local hospital.
The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the deceased. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
