Deputies arrest mother, boyfriend after child found alone in West Ashley

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies in Charleston County arrested a mother and her boyfriend after a one-year-old was found wandering alone in West Ashley. 

Deputies responded to the area of Ashley River Road and Old Parsonage Road, where they found the child, who was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the child’s mother, identified as Taylor Gallagher, arrived after the child was taken to the hospital. Gallagher was then arrested and charged with unlawful conduct towards a child. 

An investigation determined Gallagher’s boyfriend, Elio Acanfora Jr., contributed to the situation, so he was also arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. 

Gallagher received a surety bond of $100,000, and Acanfora Jr. received a surety bond of $50,000.
