20-year-old charged for attempting lottery fraud at Mount Pleasant gas station
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A 20-year-old was charged by state agents for attempting to commit lottery fraud at a Mount Pleasant gas station, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
Gracie Jeanette Moseley was charged with intent to defraud the South Carolina Education Lottery on Feb. 26.
Warrants provided by SLED state Moseley stole $315 in scratch-off lottery tickets from the Scotchman gas station she worked at on July 29, 2024. She then attempted to redeem the stolen tickets for cash prizes that totaled $318 the following day.
All of the events were captured on store surveillance video.
Moseley was booked at the Al Cannon Detention Center after her arrest. She has since been released on a $5,000 PR bond.
The 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case against her.
