Crews respond to large brush fire in Hanahan
UPDATE: Hanahan city officials say the fire has been contained; however they say because of weather conditions, the area will likely smolder and produce smoke for the next few days.
“There is no threat to the public or any structures at this time,” the city said.

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – Multiple fire agencies are working to contain a large brush fire in Hanahan.
The fire is located near Henry E Brown Blvd and Tanner Ford Blvd, causing northbound traffic to be reduced to one lane.
Hanahan Fire Department, Goose Creek Rural Fire, and Joint Base Charleston Fire are responding.
People should drive with caution in the area or find an alternative route.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a statewide Red Flag Fire Alert until further notice. People should use caution when burning outdoors due to heightened wildfire risks.
