Public hearing for future Charleston traffic projects

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday during the City of Charleston’s Traffic and Transportation Committee meeting to discuss the future of Senate Street.

Officials announced a proposal to make Senate Street one-way. Senate Street runs parallel to Rutledge Avenue between Huger Street and Congress Street.

The proposal to make Senate St a one-way street arises from the city’s future plans to conduct a traffic operation analysis on the peninsula, which includes considering changes to other roadways, potentially converting some from one-way to two-way streets.

Residents are invited to attend the public hearing at 80 Broad Street at 3:30 p.m.
