Lowcountry man who worked as private babysitter arrested for alleged ‘sextortion’ scheme
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A Lowcountry man who worked at a daycare and as a private babysitter in Sullivan’s Island, Moncks Corner, and Mount Pleasant is the suspect of a multi-agency ‘sextortion’ investigation, authorities said Monday.
25-year-old Brandon Brill was arrested on Feb. 19 for three charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor, and felony sexual extortion by Mount Pleasant officers and ICE agents.
Brill was charged after authorities began an investigation into a minor being extorted for child sexual abuse material images. Officials said he had been a private babysitter since at least 2021 and was employed by a local daycare in 2022.
Between 2023 and 2025, Brill advertised babysitting services on Facebook and Nanny Lane.
Authorities suspect Brill may have engaged or exploited additional victims and encouraged anyone who knows a child who was in contact with him to report it to their tip line.
The toll-free line is 866-347-2423, or you can complete an online tip form using the link below.
Both avenues are staffed 24/7.
As of 6:06 p.m. Monday, jail records show Brill is currently in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center. He is held on a $300,000 bond.
News 2 has reached out to both ICE and the Mount Pleasant Police Department for further information.
