Large house fire destroys Sullivan’s Island home Saturday night

SULLIVAN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – A large house fire broke out on Sullivan’s Island Saturday night, destroying a home on Jasper Boulevard, according to officials.

Sullivan’s Island Fire Department responded to the scene around 6:04 p.m. and was assisted by the Isle of Palms and Mount Pleasant units.

Officials said all occupants made it out safely, and a dog was rescued from the home.

The house, built in 1975 and owned by a longtime island resident, is considered a total loss.

Fire officials said no neighboring homes were damaged.

As the scene winds down, some fire units have been released, while others remain to put out hot spots. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
