1 arrested in deadly auto-pedestrian crash
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – One person is dead following a North Charleston auto-pedestrian crash.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to Dorchester Road and Forest Hills Drive around 9:15 p.m. Saturday and learned a male victim was deceased.
The driver, 31-year-old Darius Akeeme Simmons, who stayed at the scene, was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, a third offense, and habitual traffic offender.
Simmons was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
