Cold front could bring rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds to Charleston area Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A cold front passing through Sunday could bring showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds to the area.

Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler said storms are likely across the Lowcountry between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. as the front moves through the region.

Showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are possible including southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph likely.

The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a wind advisory from 5 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We certainly could see a few gusts higher in some spots near thunderstorms,” said Fowler. “Stay alert for rapidly changing conditions tomorrow, especially morning to early afternoon.”
