Boil water advisory lifted for Cane Bay area
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A boil water advisory in parts of the Cane Bay area was lifted Saturday morning.
Officials said test samples came back safe and that water was safe to drink.
The 24-hour boil water advisory was implemented Friday for residents in parts of Cane Bay due to a water main break.
Berkeley County officials said the water outage occurred after a contractor, while installing a gas line, struck a BCWS water main at the intersection of Highway 176 and Fair Winds Boulevard.
Crews worked to correct the issue and restore water to the surrounding area; however, the boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure.
