Georgetown man caught on camera attempting to steal trailer in Summerville, deputies say

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A man was arrested this week after he was caught on camera attempting to steal a trailer, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said a deputy was at work when he noticed activity on his security cameras and found the suspect, 54-year-old Bobby Joe Huskey of Georgetown, attempting to take a trailer from his Summerville home.

Huskey tried to remove a lock from the trailer with a grinder; however, the attempt was unsuccessful, and he left the scene.

Responding deputies found the suspect’s vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for not having a license plate.

The sheriff’s office said Huskey eventually admitted to attempting to steal the trailer.

He was arrested on a charge of ‘Grand Larceny, more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.’

Officials said a records check revealed that Huskey was out on bond in North Carolina for stealing a trailer.
