Dense Fog Advisory issued for the Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the Lowcountry until 9 a.m. on Monday.

The affected areas include Colleton, Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston counties.

Visibility is reported to be one-quarter mile or less in dense fog. Storm Team 2 says it could be a difficult drive for commuters on the roadways this morning.

“As you get a bit closer to 9 o’clock [a.m.], that dense fog advisory could be extended – just depends on how long this lasts and if the sun really does its job after sunrise,” said meteorologist Grace Lowe.

Officials are asking drivers to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of the next car.
