Incident at Northwoods Mall leads to juvenile being tased, arrested

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – An altercation at Northwoods Mall led to a juvenile being tased and arrested Saturday afternoon.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to the mall around 5 p.m. for a disturbance involving juveniles.

A spokesman for the agency, Harve Jacobs, said that one of the juveniles was tased during an altercation with an officer.

No injuries were reported; however, the juvenile was arrested and released to a parent.

“Chief Camacho and the department’s command staff are aware of and have initiated a review of the incident,” Jacobs said.

No other details were provided.
