SC State and Williamsburg County schools to announce partnership Friday morning

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCBD) – South Carolina State University and the Williamsburg County School District are set to announce Friday a historic partnership that would create new opportunities for educators.

An agreement, through the South Carolina Department of Education, will establish the ‘School Leadership Academy,’ which officials say will cultivate effective leaders in the school district through comprehensive training, practical experience, networking, and personal development programs.

Leaders from SC State and Williamsburg County schools will make the agreement official during a Friday morning ceremony in the university’s Fine Arts Building.

SC State President Alexander Conyers and Williamsburg County School District Superintendent Kevin T. Wymbs will be joined on the program by Dr. Percy A. Mack Jr., acting chair of the SC State Department of Educational Leadership, and Dr. M. Evelyn Fields, dean of the SC State College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences for the ceremony.
