Mount Pleasant to hold annual nighttime light parade

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Hundreds of brightly lit floats will travel along Coleman Boulevard on Sunday for the Town of Mount Pleasant’s Christmas light parade.

The town will welcome the holiday season with its annual nighttime parade featuring lights, marching bands, and dozens of community organizations.

Sunday’s parade begins at Live Oak Drive immediately following the fireworks display at 5:30 p.m. It can be viewed anywhere along W. Coleman Blvd. from Live Oak to the end at Patriots Point Road.

Last year’s parade was canceled due to the threat of severe weather. Sunday’s forecast calls for a partly cloudy day but a low chance for showers. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s with overnight lows in the 50s.

Road closures will be in place beginning at 4 p.m. on Coleman Blvd. from Whilden Street to Pherigo Street for the parade lineup, then roads along the primary route will close at 5 p.m.

  • W. Coleman Blvd from Whilden Street to Patriots Point Road
  • Ravenel Bridge off-ramp onto Coleman Blvd.
