North Charleston Elementary receives Cool School award
North Charleston Elementary is making significant academic gains. They have an exciting and engaging school environment and strong community partnerships. NCES receives the News 2 Cool School award.
North Charleston Elementary School moved from “Below Average” to “Good” in four years on the State Report Card. NCES is a Title One school with 345 students. Principal Melissa Brubaker attributes their academic gains to data-driven strategies, solid instruction, access to high-quality curriculum, providing professional development and support for teachers, the House system, and a community partnership with the Liberty Hill Stem Initiative, which brought Project Lead the Way to the school.
