Summerville warming shelter to open Wednesday and Thursday nights
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A warming shelter will open in Summerville again this week amid frigid temperatures.
The shelter at Seacoast Church Summerville will provide a warm place for people without adequate heat and those experiencing homelessness to stay on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Overnight lows are expected in the 30s.
Guests will be provided a cot with linens and a pillow, a warm dinner, and a takeaway breakfast. The church said its shower trailer will not be available this week as it’s still being used in Asheville by communities impacted by devastating flooding.
“Men, women, and families are welcome. We currently do not have accommodations for pets,” the church said.
Seacoast Church Summerville Warming Center is located at 301 E. 5th N. Street. The entrance is facing Gum Street.
