State-of-the-art parking garage in the works at Charleston International Airport
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston International Airport has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art parking garage designed to enhance the traveler experience.
The $348 million garage is expected to be completed by fall 2027. Upon completion, five thousand one hundred sixty-four private vehicles and 2,036 rental cars will be able to park in the 2.4 million square foot space.
A Consolidated Rental Car Facility will be featured in the space, allowing the rental process to be streamlined for travelers going to and from.
“This new parking garage is a significant investment in the future of Charleston International Airport and our commitment to providing exceptional service to our travelers,” said Elliott Summey, executive director and CEO of Charleston International Airport. “As air travel continues to grow in our region, this facility will not only meet current demand but also prepare us for the future, ensuring that our airport remains a vital hub for both business and leisure travelers.”
The construction of the facility is expected to create several jobs and boost the local economy.
