Fentanyl, cocaine seized during Pawleys Island drug bust

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – A Pawleys Island man is facing a slew of charges following a drug bust in the Pawleys Island community.

Deputies with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Sunday and recovered “trafficking amounts” of substances that field tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine base, according to the agency.

Additionally, officials said they recovered marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials, a handgun, and money during the search.

Shawn Simmons, of Pawleys Island, was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges including trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine base, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime among others.
