Car stolen at gunpoint during downtown armed robbery

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen during a Saturday morning armed robbery.

The crime happened on Meeting Street around 6 a.m., according to Sgt. Chris Stinson with the Charleston Police Department.

Sgt. Stinson told News 2 that the victim’s car was stolen at gunpoint during the robbery. He said the car has since been recovered.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
