Deputies arrest man in Georgetown for sexually assaulting minor

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

54-year-old William Brian  McCants was charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Law enforcement agents found McCants at a Georgetown motel Monday night, the sheriff’s office said.

Jason Lesley, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said the charges are the same minor. The assaults were reported in Williamsburg County.

McCants is currently at the Georgetown County Detention Center, waiting to be moved to the Williamsburg County Detention Center.
