1 killed in three-vehicle collision on US 17A
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a three-vehicle collision killed one person on US 17A.
The collision occurred Monday night around 9:20 p.m. on US 17A approximately five miles south of Summerville.
Troopers say a 2007 Saturn Ion and a 2020 GMC pickup were traveling north on US 17A when the vehicles collided in the roadway with a 2018 RAM pickup traveling south.
According to officials, the driver of the Saturn is deceased and they were the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The drivers of the Ram and GMC were both the sole occupants of their vehicles and were transported by EMS to a local hospital for their injuries.
The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
