2 The Point: A sit down with the Mayors of Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island

SULLIVAN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – This week on 2 The Point, we sit down with the Mayors from the Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island to discuss the timely and pressing issues facing leaders and people on the two barrier islands.

We take a look at how each of the islands’ response plans held up as Tropical Storm Debby made its impacts felt across the Carolinas earlier this month. Isle of Palms Mayor Phillip Pounds provides an update on where clean-up stands after a tornado touched down on IOP.

Plus, a project to repair the beach on both of the islands is set to get underway soon. Mayor Pounds and Sullivan’s Island Mayor Pat O’Neil give an update on the work.

And, improving efficiency in moving beach traffic on and off their islands is at the front of mind for both Mayors. We discuss some of the adjustments they’ve made in hopes of easing some of the congestion.

This and more, on this week’s episode of 2 The Point.
