Pedestrian dies days after collision with vehicle near Pawley’s Island

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A pedestrian hit by a vehicle near Pawleys Island has died three days later, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

On Tuesday, a Buick SUV was driving on Ocean Highway when they struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Wesley Road.

State troopers said the pedestrian was taken to Grand Strand Medical for injuries sustained in the crash. Trooper William Bennett said the pedestrian died Friday from their injuries.

The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the pedestrian.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
