‘Timbo’ announces new location for West Ashley boiled peanut stand

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Timothy Grainger, better known to many as Timbo the Peanut Man, announced on Wednesday a new location for his popular boiled peanut stand.

Timbo has served customers from his peanut-shaped roadside stand along Highway 61 in the West Ashley area for years. But as he recently noted on his Facebook page, a dispute with the current property’s landlord prompted his decision to relocate.

Now with a much larger trailer for selling his beloved boiled peanuts, Timbo will be setting up shop not too far from his former spot.

“The new location is on hi-way 61 in pierpont [sic] beside a lawnmower shop only around 5 lots from my old space,” he said in a Facebook post.

“I will be moving the old p-nut wagon off the property this coming Sunday,” he said in another post.

The space is off Ashley River Road (Highway 61) not far from Melody Lane.
