Suspect arrested in Thursday morning Dorchester Manor shooting

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection to the killing of Jasmine Elizabeth Anderson in Dorchester Manor.

Geread Sonny Richardson, who also lives in North Charleston’s Dorchester Manor, has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and possession of meth – less than one gram, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

Anderson was found shot to death in her home Thursday morning and was pronounced deceased at 5:16 a.m. by Dorchester County Coroner Paul J. Brouthers.

Investigators believe the shooting that killed her happened around 3 a.m. The sheriff’s office said the investigation in this case is ongoing. As a result, DCSO said they would not release any further information ‘to preserve the integrity of the investigation.’

Deputies say they are still following up on additional leads to determine what happened to Ms. Anderson.
