Water main break temporarily closes part of Meeting Street

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) —- Authorities say a downtown Charleston road will be closed for several hours on Monday.

The Charleston Fire Department posted on social media that Meeting Street between Calhoun Street and George Street will be closed while crews work to repair a water main break.

The closure affects lanes in both directions. Charleston Fire and police are on the scene. Police say to expect delays in the area.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes while crews resolve the issue.
