Police investigating after pedestrian killed in Savannah Highway crash
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- An investigation is underway after police say a pedestrian was killed in a Sunday night crash on Savannah Highway.
Authorities said a tow truck was traveling south on Savannah Highway near Carrillo Street around 10 p.m. when the vehicle struck a female pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street.
According to the Charleston Police Department (CPD), the woman was staying at a nearby hotel with another individual. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
The tow truck remained on the scene, police said. No charges have been filed at this time.
