1 injured in shooting outside barber shop, North Charleston Police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Police say a man was shot in North Charleston Wednesday night. 

Harve Jacobs, spokesperson for the North Charleston Police Department said officers responded to the Celebrityz Barber Shop around 7:15 p.m. for a reported shooting. 

Once on the scene, they discovered a man had been shot in the thigh outside the shop on Dorchester Road. The man was taken to a local hospital. 

Detectives arrested Jonathan Shelton Alston, 46, and charged him with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection to the shooting.

 Police say the investigation is ongoing. There was no update on the victim’s condition.
