Fatal collision closes section of Dorchester Road, police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — An intersection of Dorchester Road is closed Tuesday afternoon while police work a fatal vehicle collision. 

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department’s Traffic Unit are on the scene at Dorchester Road and Lowell Drive. All westbound lanes are closed.

A crash occurred between two vehicles with one confirmed fatality, according to Harve Jacobs with NCPD. Two other people were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

All traffic in the area is being rerouted to Cross County Road. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area while crews work.
