Man arrested for criminal sexual conduct with a minor

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has arrested a man in the Hemingway area for criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Ronald Gene Blankenship Jr., 42, of Hemingway was arrested by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

According to Jalisa Brown, Public Information Officer for Williamsburg County, investigators with WCSO were requested by the SC Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce to assist with a search warrant at a Hemingway residence.

Upon investigation, law enforcement determined that on several occasions, Blankenship Jr. sexually assaulted a minor several times over several years.

Ronald Blankenship Jr. was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor 2nd degree and is being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
