Where to watch the College of Charleston NCAA game Friday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The College of Charleston Cougars are set to compete in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday.

While the team may be playing across the country at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, there are countless ways to watch the Cougars game a little closer to home on Friday night.

Charleston area restaurants say they are working to bring the excitement of the arena to their business for all to enjoy.

With it being the first round it’s almost safe to say no matter where you go to watch the game, you’re going to see basketball on a television.

Here’s a look at some of the local restaurants who tell News 2 they are committed to making sure the College of Charleston’s matchup against Alabama is on the screen:

  • Kickin’ Chicken (all locations)
  • Meeting at Market (120 Market St)
  • Share House (23 Ann St)
  • The Alley (131 Columbus St)
  • Uptown Social (587 King St)

College of Charleston students wanting to watch the game can join a student watch party at the Stern Student Center ballroom with free admission.

Nearly all students on campus tell News 2 they have the Cougars beating Alabama.

Meanwhile, as businesses are getting ready for the second day of basketball, those at the Kickin’ Chicken say they’re preparing for large crowds for their watch parties today.

“We’ve been doing the bracket challenge and really getting everybody involved with that. And we also have drink specials all tournament long, obviously with Charleston in it this year we’re super excited, we’ve been doing watch parties all season long for them. So just to have them make it and continue to make it, it’s definitely exciting in the city so we’re looking forward to it,” said Becca Astor with Kickin’ Chicken.

The matchup between the College of Charleston and Alabama is set to begin at 7:35 p.m.
