DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — Dorchester County deputies released the results of their weekend checkpoints and patrols, which resulted in citations, warnings, and three arrests.

After deputies completed a traffic checkpoint in Ridgeville on Friday, they conducted saturation patrols throughout Summerville, said Lt. Rick Carson, DCSO spokesman.

In total, 100 traffic stops were completed, and law enforcement issued 48 citations and 39 warnings. Three people were also arrested for possession of fentanyl, DCSO reported.

Four vehicle inspections were conducted, and one commercial vehicle driver was deemed out of service.

“It is the goal of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit to have zero deaths on our roadways,” said DCSO. “These initiatives will continue to be conducted throughout various portions of Dorchester County in order to help achieve this goal.”
