AT&T, other cellular providers see significant outages

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you’re an AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile or Cricket customer, you may have issues with your service Thursday morning.

DownDetector.com, a website that tracks service outages, indicated a spike in complaints about their service, particularly AT&T, starting early Thursday morning.

The site showed problems reported in several major cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston, among others.

AT&T users reported that they were having issues with their cell phones having no signal. Many said they were not able to make or receive calls, but texting appeared to be working.

According to Apple, customers with iPhones will still be able to make emergency calls if “SOS” or “SOS only” is seen in the status bar.
