Haley hits back at Trump after he asks where her husband is during Coastal Carolina University rally

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Nikki Haley punched back against former president Donald Trump on Saturday after he questioned where her husband while making a campaign stop at Coastal Carolina University.

“Where’s her husband? He’s away. What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone,” Trump said. “He knew.”

Haley’s husband Michael, a major in the National Guard, deployed earlier this year to Africa attached to the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.

Haley took to her X account shortly after Trump’s Conway appearance, saying his comments were below the belt.

“Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about. Someone who continually disrespects the sacrifices of military families has no business being commander in chief,” Haley wrote.

South Carolina’s GOP primary is Feb. 24, and Trump holds more than a 30-point lead over Haley.
