Mrs. Patricia Pugh is in her 35th year teaching Spanish at Divine Redeemer Catholic School in Hanahan.   She is from Ecuador, and although she majored in business in college, she was asked to teach her native language Spanish.  Pugh teaches Spanish to the entire school, from four-year-old students to eighth graders.  She also teaches art.

The Army veteran describes her teaching style as strict, but fun.  Her students win state and national honors for the Spanish exams consistently.  Students say she’s not only a great teacher, but a great person as well.
