NCPD: One injured in shooting, suspect at large
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) on Wednesday shut down a portion of Ashley Phosphate Road due to a shooting.
NCPD said that one person was shot and taken to the hospital just before 3:45 p.m.
The man was sitting in a car on Ashley Phosphate Road when he was shot. A passenger was in the car as well, but was not hurt.
NCPD is searching for the suspect(s) involved in the shooting.
According to NCPD, Ashley Phosphate Road at Cross County Road shut down in both directions as of shortly before 4:00 p.m.
Two lanes in both directions opened shortly before 5:00 p.m., but law enforcement remained in the area.
NCPD did not elaborate on the nature of the incident, nor when the road is expected to reopen.
