Heat Advisory: Very hot temperatures expected across Charleston area this week
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A heat advisory is in place for most of South Carolina on Tuesday, with the heat index expected to reach triple digits.
High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s Tuesday and Wednesday with peak heat indices, or that feels-like temperature, up to 105° and 108°, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston.

“Peak heating and dangerous heat will occur between the early afternoon and mid-evening periods through Wednesday,” NWS forecasters said.
Locally, the heat advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, but could be extended.
People are reminded to drink plenty of water, wear loose-fitting and light colored clothing, and avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day. Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
