Driver killed in Saturday crash on Old Pee Dee Road

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash on Old Pee Dee Road.

Cpl. Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the two-vehicle crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. near Ray Road.

A 2011 Ford pickup was turning onto Old Pee Dee Road from a private drive when they were struck by a northbound Ram pickup truck.

The driver of the Ford died. They have not yet been publicly identified.

Cpl. Pye said the driver of the Ram was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
